Recycling Bottle Caps and Cigarette Butts

• The Women’s Association of Sifnos "To Smari" has taken the initiative to collect and recycle bottle caps. For this purpose, collection containers with special markings have been placed at various locations on the island. The proceeds from this activity are used for community welfare projects on the island.
• Collection of cigarette butts. The Municipality of Sifnos participates in the #gopafree program. This program includes the placement of special recycling bins for cigarette butts, their collection in these bins, and then their transportation abroad for processing. The harmful materials and substances are transformed into fertilizer and new recycled products by the Cigaret Cycle nonprofit organization.
